In today's New York Times media reporter Richard Perez-Pena recognizes the significance of the VoiceofSanDiego and other on-line newspapers: "…a brand of serious, original reporting by professional journalists — the province of the traditional media, but at a much lower cost of doing business."
Congratulations to Andrew Donohue, the founding editor of VoiceofSanDiego, and a member of the Advisory Board of the California Media Collaborative.
New ventures like these are good for the blogosphere, as Perez-Pena writes, because they "stand out in an Internet landscape long dominated by partisan commentary, gossip, vitriol and citizen journalism posted by unpaid amateurs."
